Is My Loved One at Risk?

The following are a few signs that may
indicate that a person is at risk:

  • Changes in appearance and personal hygiene
  • Changes in friends and associations. Refusal to bring associates home.
  • Sexual acting out
  • Depression shown by sustained, prolonged negative mood and attitude often accompanied by poor appetite
  • Abuse of alcohol and/or drugs
  • Lost of interest in former activities, sports or hobbies
  • Threats of self-harm or harm to others
  • Suicidal ideations or talk
  • Self injury or self-destructive behavior
  • Frequent outbursts of anger, verbal or physical aggression
  • Threats to run away
  • Aggressive or non-aggressive consistent violation of rights or others, opposition to family rules, authority, truancy, thefts or vandalism.
  • Beginning of legal problems
  • Strange thoughts and feelings, unusual behaviors
  • Manipulative and deceitful behaviorsLack of self-esteem

If you answered YES to any of these questions this can be a warning to the possibility that you or your loved one may be alcoholic/addicted.

If you answered YES to any two of these questions, there are strong chances that you or your loved one is an alcoholic or addict.

If you answered YES to three or more questions, there is a high possibility that you or your loved one is an alcoholic/addict.
